Smith River

Here, at the Sea Escape, Oceanfront Lodging - Motel, we are located in the finest area of the Smith River. We are just one mile from the California/Oregon State lines. Our guests will appreciate the quiet surroundings, beautiful views, sea breezes, and an oceanfront location that has over three miles of gorgeous beach for that early morning or late evening stroll.

The Smith River, in Del Norte County, is one of northern California's most major rivers. The mouth of the river is located five miles from the Oregon state line, and ten miles from Crescent City. Along with steelhead and chinook. the Smith also has runs of silver salmon, coho, and sea-run cutthroat trout. The Chinook runs start in late August, going through late December, with its peak in November. Steelhead start their runs in early December and go through March, with their peak in January The Smith River flows through some of the most beautiful scenery in California. From Six Rivers National Forest through Jedediah State Park.

Sometimes, when the morning fog caresses the tallest trees in the world, you can imagine the past flowing through the long, misty shadows. In awe you find yourself standing up against the Earth's tallest living things, the essence of the Majestic Redwood Forest.

The redwoods, once seen, leave a mark or create a vision that stays with you always. It's not only their unbelievable stature, nor the color which seems to shift and vary under your eyes, no, they are unlike any trees we know. They are ambassadors from another time.

The perfect location for visiting the redwoods and coast. Our accommodations include our restful studio, and one bedroom ocean view apartments, which can lodge from two to six guests comfortably. All units are non smoking. 

Each room offers you free access to Wi-Fi since we know you need some of the pleasures from back home. For your entertainment we provide flat screen TV with DVD players.
